Arsenal are set to complete their first piece of transfer business ahead of the new season by adding FC Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac to their ranks.
Kolasinac will be allowed to join The Gunners on a free transfer after his contract expires with his current club.
The 23-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract with Arsenal, showing how Arsene Wenger has been keen to work on the future of the club regardless of the final decision on his personal situation.
Kolasinac was born in Germany but plays for the Bosnian national team. He has thus far played out his entire club career, youth and senior, in the country of his birth.
Regarded as an attacking left-fullback, Kolasinac has also spent parts of his career playing at centre-half and defensive midfield. His versatility presents some interesting options for Arsenal next season, especially with Wenger preferring the back three system in the final few weeks of the campaign.
Kolasinac has made 36 appearances for Schalke this term, scoring three goals and assisting seven, and has 18 caps for Bosnia. He will be announced as an Arsenal player on July 1, when the transfer window opens.
