Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to join Tianjin Quanjian for €80 million (£71 million) and become the biggest signing in the history of the Chinese Super League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will become the Chinese Super League’s second highest-paid player behind Carlos Tevez, and will earn a weekly salary of approximately €575,000 (£500,000)

The Gabon international has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Liverpool throughout the past few weeks, but the lure of a reported €30 million (£26 million) per year salary will see the Bundesliga top-scorer ply his trade in the Far East next season.

Despite spending just four seasons with Borussia Dortmund, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contributions have placed him in the club history books.

He has 120 goals from 189 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, which places him in the top ten of the club’s all-time record goal scorers.

In fact, his scoring rate suggests there’s every chance he would have broken into the club’s top five scorers had he stayed at the Westfalenstadion.

  1. Loves money more than football. I hope he fails and hates it and has to retire and then eventually declares bankruptcy and ends his days a penniless nobody. Players in their prime should stay in Europe or they just make themselves look foolish. Just like Oscar. Greedy idiots.

  2. the chinese have the money and its always been about the money for most players. I guess most teams in Europe did’nt want Obamayeng becuase of his age 28years heading to 30 in two years. most teams now wants playes between 17-25..Even then getting Aubameyang today at 28 for a full contract of 4years he will be old to sell at age 32…The chinese, Italian league and MLS is the only alternative destination for older players…I do believe that Aubamayeng i sheading for the dollars just as most players wish for..he will retire at age 32-33 and maybe play in the MLS- Montreal for about 2years then go back to Africa…Thats the way i see it..
