Milan television network Mediaset Premium have reported an agreement between Lazio and Inter Milan for a €22 million transfer of Senegalese international Keita Balde.
The 22-year-old forward was left out of Lazio’s training camp over the weekend to travel to Milan, which was reportedly only so that he could visit his girlfriend, but reports are now claiming that he is on the verge of signing a five-year contract with the 2010 Champions League winners.
The Lazio youth product drew plaudits across the country after achieving the best-ever goalscoring tally of his career, attracting the attention of AC Milan and Juventus earlier in the summer, and now looks set to replace Old Trafford-bound Ivan Perisic.
Keita Balde scored 16 times in Serie A from 31 appearances, ranking him second at Lazio behind Italian talisman Ciro Immobile, who scored 23 in 36 appearances.
To further emphasize the final product that Keita Balde added to his game last season, he boasts the fourth-best conversion rate in Serie A (22.9% – scored 16 goals from 70 attempts) amongst players to have netted at least 10 times.
Inter Milan have been frugal in their movement in the transfer market thus far, most notably spending a combined €25 million for the purchases of Spanish midfielder Borja Valero from Fiorentina and Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar from Sampdoria.
