It has been one of the talks of the summer but no one ever came out in the open to talk about it. Not De Gea, not Real Madrid, not Manchester United and not even the managers of the two clubs until now when the silence has been broken and it’s broken by none other than Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez.
Perez does not wish to discuss De Gea’s transfer in public and said: “De Gea is a great goalkeeper and belongs to Manchester United, a friend of the club,” he told reporters. “I have nothing to say about a friend of the club.”
It was believed that the Manchester United no.1 would be heading back and complete a move to Real Madrid but reports in the media now suggest that Real Madrid has not made a bid for De Gea till now and the 24-year-old will now be going to the tour of the United States with the rest of his Manchester United teammates.
This, however does not mean that the deal is off but does show that its far from complete.
