Rafael Benitez has confirmed that Sergio Ramos is not for sale. The bound to be captain has been the target for Manchester United after reports emerged that he was unhappy at Real Madrid. According to reports, Ramos felt he did not get the respect he deserved and also felt he was paid poorly than some of his colleagues.
It seemed highly unlikely that he would live but sources confirmed the player wanted out and was not using United to get a better contract.
That, however does not seem to be the case now as the player is now on the tour of Australia with Real Madrid and with Iker Casillas gone, Ramos is everyone’s favourite to get the armband at Real Madrid.
New manager Rafael Benitez has also confirmed that Ramos won’t be leaving and is not for sale.
Benitez said: “There is a lot of talk about his [Ramos’] situation. For me he is an enormous professional. He applies himself and does everything that the team and I ask.
The president has already commented that he is staying with the club.
I have spoken to him at length in the summer about his ideas and his future. I see Sergio as an integral part of our team. He is a winner and that is what we need in our team.”
However rumours of a move to Old Trafford stay with Manchester United placing a final bid of 60 million. The player’s girlfriend also confirmed that she would be happy to move to Manchester if her partner decides to and the duo are also learning English.
All these, however remain rumours without having any credibility.
