After Manchester City revealed that Pep Guardiola would be taking over the squad after the end of the 2015-16 season, everyone was quite aware that the Citizens would go out on a shopping spree in the summer. And now, they have begun with their transfers.
Manchester City officially announced today that they were able to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund. At first the transfer of the midfielder looks like a pretty good one, but nonetheless, it should be noted that he got injured at the end of the 2015-16 campaign and it’s unknown when he’ll be able to return on the pitch.
Gundogan posted a very emotional good-bye message towards Borussia Dortmund in which he thanked coaches and fans for all the support. Moreover, Manchester City shared a video on Twitter, in which the midfielder himself reveals he will be joining the squad.
