David Guetta contributes to a very uninspiring Euro 2016 opening ceremony [Video]

David Guetta is definitely among the best DJ’s in the world, but he surely isn’t the musical powerhouse he was a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, he was chosen to perform at the Euro 2016 opening ceremony and unfortunately, his act was a bit disappointing.

Guetta also played mainly his old tracks from a few years ago, which certainly didn’t contribute positively to the entire atmosphere. It’s a bit strange that given their history of culture and arts, France chose exactly David Guetta to play at the ceremony.

Guetta’s performance can be seen in the video below after the fourth minute mark.

  1. Who gives a shit you silly little water-head! This is football not music, and you are the problem with our sport at the moment, sticking negative comments and unrelated bullshit in where it doesn’t belong- who cares if it’s not the latest music, which is mostly shit anyway, but btw, who are you to criticise? Can you mix like a DJ or play an instrument at all? Doubtful! Your gossip is the only way for you to get noticed and that is pathetic! Leave the sport alone- go sit at a cafe and gossip with your fan-boys and try to learn a skill other than talking shit!

    • Who gives a fuck you stupid little dickhead! This is the opening ceremony not the match, and you are the problem with reading articles at the moment, sticking negative comments and unrelated bullshit in where it doesn’t belong – who cares if he’s not writing about the match, which was mostly shit anyway but btw who the FUCK are you to criticise? can you write like a professional or make a valid point at all? No chance! Your hypocrisy is the only way for you to get noticed and that is embarrassing! Leave the keyboard alone – go sit in hedge and talk to yourself and don’t try to learn any skills until you’ve taken a long hard look at yourself.

    • DJs can simply pre-mix songs together, with minimal effort, stand on a stage, and press play. I could do the same with an iPhone and an auxiliary cable. The singing was also lip-synced. Overall, having a DJ as a performance artist is almost always lackluster due to aforementioned reason. If there was any work done for this by Guetta, it was most likely the night before as he mixed tracks in Protools, exported the mp3, and then pressed that big ol’ play button. The rest is just unnecessary, albeit eye-catching, movement.

For the record I am an aspiring recording/mixing/performance artist who plays guitar and sings, and have been doing so for a few years now, so yes, I am experienced enough with DAWs and live performances to know what I am talking about.

In other words, always get a band, or never overpay a DJ when anyone can make a playlist for a party.

      • Why use one single band, with a limited repertoire, when you can have all the bands performing at the same event?
Who else can improv on the spot like a DJ?
Don’t get me wrong, I love bands and acoustic instruments, but saying to ALWAYS use a band is bullshit.
And just to be clear, I mean a real DJ, not a performing artist posing as a DJ.

  2. Bart, you moron! Also a 3 years old donkey can say that this Euro 2016 inauguration was a total shit. I can’t believe that the people behind this inauguration are of the same animal species of the people behind the Super Bowl inauguration. Damn French. David Guetta is fine and a good guy, but they made him look like a dumbass.

  3. Just for all the kids out there who don’t better, Guetta literally was doing nothing…like really nothing at all. The headphones, the cd platers, the mixer….nothing! It was a pre-recorded play-back that some man close to his 50’s thought would be entertaining. Pure shit. France could have picked Phoenix, Daft Punk and a million other artists than Guetta to display the countries long music history. Shameful

  4. Bart – You are an idiot 🙂
The show was 100% crap, made for retards.

But it shows the actual level of France culture. This is where we are.
