The first England game in Euro 2016 was highly anticipated by every football fan around the world, as it was expected that the Brits would have powered through Russia thanks to their young and motivated core. However, things didn’t go exactly according to plan.
Roy Hodgson’s men played a pretty decent match and thanks to Eric Dier’s brilliant free-kick, they could have gotten the three points. Nevertheless, a last minute meltdown deprived them from reaching a victory. It was a goal by Vasily Berezetskiy in the 92nd minute that showed that England have still some growing up to do and haven’t learned a lot from their past mistakes in big tournaments.
