Another match, another draw and disappointment for Portugal. Tonight, Cristiano Ronaldo and company were once again unable to get the three points, as they faced Austria in the second leg of the Euro 2016 group stage.
The game was dominated by Portugal from start to finish, but despite their prowess on possession and shots, Fernando Santos’ men were simply unable to crack their opponents. It was Cristiano Ronaldo who had the best chance to give his squad the lead, but the Real Madrid player failed to capitalize it, as he missed a penalty in the 79th minute.
As a result from the draw, the situation in Group F remains unchanged, as Hungary are still on top, while Iceland and Portugal occupy the second and third position. The teams that will go through to the elimination phase will be decided in the last round of the group stage.
