It’s always sad to see a football player retire, but it’s a lot more heart-breaking when they are young and forced to say goodbye to the game due to a health condition.
Nevertheless, such things occur from time to time and the latest one is about Lucas Silva, the 23-year-old midfielder from Real Madrid. The Whites signed the youngster a year ago and after 8 matches in La Liga, he was sent to Marseille on loan.
Silva was set to be loaned to Sporting Lisbon for the upcoming season and only had to go through some medical test, but after they were conducted it was revealed that he has failed them due to heart issues. The 23-year-old also has the following stated on his Instagram profile – “I fought the good fight, I finished my career, I kept the faith.”
There are rumors that the sentence has been on his profile for quite some time now, but nothing has been confirmed for now.
