The ex-Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers took over Celtic about a month ago and big things were expected from him. However, in his first game with the team, Rodgers failed to defeat the Lincoln Red Imps in qualifier for the Champions League.
Usually it wouldn’t have been so bad to lose your first game with a 1-0 score, but it’s definitely an embarrassment when a legendary club fails to beat a semi-professional team. However, Rodgers didn’t feel the loss as an embarrassment and thinks that it was simply a tough game that was played in unpleasant conditions.
Rodgers will be able to redeem himself in the second-leg of the UCL qualifier next Wednesday, when the small squad from Gibraltar will be visiting Celtic in Glasgow.
