Mario Gotze definitely hasn’t been at his best throughout the last three years, but that is mainly due to the fact that he has rarely played while he was wearing the Bayern Munich shirt. The 24-year-old was referred to as the German Lionel Messi while playing for Borussia Dortmund, but things have definitely changed.
Gotze did score the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina, but despite that Pep Guardiola overlooked him and left him on the bench quite often. Nevertheless, things may change pretty soon, as according to the German outlet Bild, the attacking midfielder will be returning to Borussia Dortmund.
According to the reports, Dortmund will be paying an amount 28 million Euros to the Bavarians to get Gotze back. Furthermore, it is rumored that he will be signing a five-year contract. The return of Gotze is surely a good thing for Dortmund, but it will be quite curious how he will be welcomed back to the team he abandoned three years ago.
