West Ham United found themselves in the thick of the fight for fourth spot last season. Although the Hammers eventually fell short, Slavan Bilic is working towards bringing Champions League football to the club’s new home at the Olympic Stadium and the news that star man Dimitri Payet is happy to stay comes as a major boost.
Rather than spending the summer looking to replace the Frenchman, Bilic can instead look at complimenting Payet’s world-class ability. According to bwin AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca is among those on West Ham’s hit list, while the likes of Sofiane Feghouli, Toni Martinez, Havard Nordtveit, Domingos Quina, Ashley Fletcher and Gokhan Tore have already made their way to the London club.
With last year’s unlikely champions Leicester City likely to lose key assets in N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez, West Ham look to be in a strong position to capitalise on a possible opening in the top four.
