Jese Rodriguez has been among the fan favorites at the Santiago Bernabeu, but it seems that Zinedine Zidane won’t need him anymore. According to the French paper L’Equipe, the 23-year-old will be playing for Paris Saint-Germain from the beginning of the 2016-17 season, as the French champions have agreed to pay a 25 million euro transfer fee.
Jese hasn’t been at his best since injuring himself two years ago and last campaign he only made the starting squad seven times and came off the bench in 21 occasions. The Spaniard did score five goals in La Liga, but nonetheless, proved to be less effective than expected.
Moreover, with the arrival of Alvaro Morata, Jese’s playing would have probably plummeted even more, as the competition in attack would have been even bigger. The 23-year-old will now have to compete with the likes of Edinson Cavani for a place on the pitch.
