The start of the 2016-17 Premier League hasn’t been the best for last year’s sensation West Ham, as Slaven Bilic’s team suffered a fifth defeat in six games! The Hammers have won just once since the beginning of the campaign and the internet didn’t wait for another invitation to troll them, as the club lost against Southampton earlier today.
Southampton definitely played a dominant game and the 3-0 score absolutely reflects that, but it should be taken into account that West Ham were simply horrific. If the Hammers do continue playing in such a way, it won’t be too surprising if we even see them in Championship next year.
The internet, and especially the fans of West Ham, had a lot to say after the match and here are some of the best reactions.
This time last season West Ham had 12 points. They now have one point less than Aston Villa did one year ago! pic.twitter.com/wdHhj3DcL3— Sky Bet (@SkyBet) September 25, 2016
