Federico Bernardeschi set for Juventus medical

Juventus will add Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi to their ranks after photos emerged on the club’s official Twitter account of fans swarming the player outside Juventus’ J Medical facility.

The Italy international joins in a five-year deal worth a reported €4 million per season.

Federico Bernardeschi leaves Fiorentina with a record of 23 goals in 93 appearances. He scored eight goals in only 18 appearances in the Europa League, showing his pedigree on the European stage, though a transfer to Juventus presents him a chance at shining on the biggest stage at club level: the Champions League

The €40 million transfer for Bernardeschi will be Juventus’ fourth signing of the summer after moves for Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa (loan), Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny and AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio.

Federico Bernardeschi enjoyed the most prolific season of his career in Serie A last term, netting 11 times in 32 appearances, and went on to make the UEFA Team of the Tournament for his efforts with Italy at the under-21 European Championship.

Juventus hope to add Bernardeschi to their squad in time for the upcoming International Champions Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain on July 26.
