Spanish striker Lucas Perez is set for an Arsenal exit after just one season of sporadic appearances at the club.
Arsene Wenger confirmed that the former PAOK and Deportivo La Coruna striker may have to look for alternatives next season due to the abundance of forwards in the squad.
“I don’t like to lose him (Lucas Perez) because, for me, he’s a top-quality striker – but we have many strikers,” said Wenger.
“At some stage, too much competition is not competition anymore. You cannot give a chance to everybody, so if he finds a satisfying solution, at least for a short time, he will do it.”
A host of clubs across the continent are lurking for Perez’s signature, notably Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle and former club Deportivo La Coruna, while Turkish reports are suggesting that Fenerbache have already agreed personal terms for a transfer.
