Jese Rodriguez has signed for Stoke City on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain, per the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old is the sixth summer acquisition for Mark Hughes’ side following the signings of Darren Fletcher, Kurt Zouma, Maxim Choupa-Moting, Bruno Martins Indi and Josh Tymon.
Jese Rodriguez is a Real Madrid youth product, joining the club as a 14-year-old, and rose through the ranks to debut for the senior side in December 2011. He made 94 appearances for the club, scoring 18 times before a lack of playing time and significant injuries lead to a €25 million move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spaniard struggled to settle in Paris, starting only one of his nine appearances last season as Unai Emery suggested a move elsewhere was needed for him to rediscover his form. Jese was subsequently loaned to Las Palmas, his hometown side, where he spent the second half of 2016/17.
Jese is set to debut on Saturday when Stoke welcome Arsenal to the bet365 stadium.
