Amongst active players, Nikola Kalinic is the third-highest scorer for the Croatian national team – netting 14 times from 36 appearances. He has made three European Championship squads, featuring in two and scoring against Spain in the Group Stage of EURO 2016.

The Serie A outfit added almost €200 million worth of new signings over the summer, and have been linked with the former Blackburn player for the past few months.

Nikola Kalinic wasn’t keen on a return to England, even though Everton were reportedly interested, and has opted to be the latest addition to AC Milan’s squad.

He scored 15 goals in Serie A last season, the highest at Fiorentina, and finished with 20 in all competitions.

AC Milan continue their quest for Europa League football on Thursday night, welcoming KF Shkendija to the San Siro in the first of two Playoff legs.
