French media outlet Paris United are reporting on Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in FC Porto and Portugal midfielder Danilo.
They claim that Paris Saint-Germain are willing to offer €45 million for the Portuguese international, who has a release clause of €60 million.
The Benfica youth product moved to Europe from Guinea Bissau with his family at just five years of age, turned professional in 2010 and joined FC Porto in 2015.
Danilo is a powerhouse in the centre of midfield, usually operating as a defensive midfielder, and adds significant quality and depth to perhaps the only area of PSG’s squad that appears thin on paper.
With Marco Verratti suspended after being sent off in PSG’s 6-2 rout of Toulouse on Sunday, only Adrien Rabiot, Thiago Motta and Grzegorz Krychowiak remain as recognised central midfielders – the latter of which is surplus to requirements at the club.
Danilo has played all 270 minutes of FC Porto’s league campaign thus far, screening the back four in three consecutive wins without conceding a goal.
