French forward Ousmane Dembele has become the second-most expensive player in history by signing for Barcelona.
The 20-year-old joins the Catalans in a five-year deal for a fee of €105 million, potentially reaching €147 million depending on added bonuses, and has a €400 million release clause.
According to a report from Sport English, he will take the number 11 shirt previously worn by Neymar.
Ousmane Dembele spent just one season in Germany after signing from Rennes for €15 million last summer, scoring six times and assisting 12 as Borussia Dortmund clinched a Champions League spot in third place.
He is Barcelona’s fifth signing of the summer after Marlon, Nelson Semedo, Gerard Deulofeu and Paulinho, and will fly to Spain for his medical over the weekend.
