Paul Pogba set for a month on the sidelines with hamstring injury

Manchester United could be without star midfielder Paul Pogba for the next month after the Frenchman was forced off early in United’s Champions League victory over FC Basel.

The former Juventus player lasted only 19 minutes of Manchester United’s Champions League return before leaving Old Trafford in crutches.

Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils have made a bright start to the 2017/18 campaign, notching up four wins and one draw in all competitions – Paul Pogba being at the centre of it all, flourishing with two goals and two assists.

Jose Mourinho, always the entertainer with his post-match insights, verbally scathed his players despite a 3-0 victory over FC Basel in the UEFA Champions League. “Bad decisions, fantasy football, Playstation football, tricks and when you stop to play as a team and when you stop to play seriously, I don’t like it,” he said, believing that his players switched off after Romelu Lukaku’s second-half header.

Pogba’s injury will almost certainly see him miss out on Premier League fixtures against Everton (H), Southampton (A) and Crystal Palace (H) in the next three weeks, though there’s every chance he could be fit and ready for the blockbuster against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, October 14.

He will also miss out on Manchester United’s next UEFA Champions League match away at CSKA Moscow, while his absence in the League Cup against Burton Albion at Old Trafford will be of little concern to his manager.

  1. Manchester united has lots number 10 to replace Pogba with…Felleini is one of them and Herera is another one. Sometimes Pogba is too slow with the ball wish Morihno can Give YOUNG a chance in position 10 more attacking and fast.. I tell you what if young can be placed in Number 10 he will get the ball faster than Pogba and working better with Rashford and Lukaku…
