Spanish outlet AS are reporting that Juventus will attempt to sign Atletico Madrid and Slovenia number one Jan Oblak when legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon retires.
Juventus have ample cover in the position after signing former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny over the summer, but view the Atletico Madrid shot-stopper as the long-term successor to the Italian.

Jan Oblak, a Slovenia international, has established himself as a world-class goalkeeper over the past few seasons with Atletico Madrid.
He kept 15 clean sheets last season for the defensively disciplined Atletico Madrid – by comparison, Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen kept 13, while Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas kept just five.
A huge stumbling block in the way of Jan Oblak’s potential move to Juventus is his release clause; the 24-year-old has a €100 million release clause on a contract that runs until 2021.
Oblak would be perfect, but Atletico won’t let him go. So Gigi will have
to keep playing for a few more years until Oblak’s contract is over. 🙂
