Real Madrid have secured the long-term future of Spanish starlet Marco Asensio, signing him on until 2023, as reported on their official website.
The 21-year-old’s previous contract lasts until 2022 but the club wanted to reward the player for a fine start to the new campaign.
Marco Asensio scored two stunning efforts in home and away clashes against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup in August, and has added a further two from six appearances in La Liga.
He joins a solid core of Real Madrid players to commit their future to the club, including Isco, Dani Carvajal, Karim Benzema, Marcelo and Raphael Varane.
As a sign of the regard with which Real Madrid hold the Spanish prospect, a rumoured €500 million release clause has been included in his new deal.
Marco Asensio will appear at a press conference at the Santiago Bernabeu on Friday at 2:00pm CEST.
