Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi spearhead a La Liga heavy 2017 FIFA FIFPro World XI, which was presented in London on October 23.
Real Madrid have five representatives – Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo – after securing La Liga and successfully defending their UEFA Champions League crown.
Barcelona, who have had at least two players feature in the XI every year since the award’s inception in 2005, are represented through talisman Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta.
Juventus’ efforts in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League, where they finished as runners-up, earned them recognition through Leonardo Bonucci (now of AC Milan), Dani Alves (now of Paris Saint-Germain) and Gianluigi Buffon, who took out The Best FIFA Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar completes a stellar XI and marks the second time that a Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar front-three has been named in the FIFA FIFPro World XI.
