Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Spanish right-back Dani Carvajal has overcome a heart infection.
Speaking with the press ahead of Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey clash with third division outfit Fuenlabrada, Zinedine Zidane revealed that the Spanish international is in good health but doesn’t know when he will return.
“Dani (Carvajal) is okay and the tests are positive,” said Zidane.
“He has been cycling today, he is healthy but there is a recovery process and we will have to see how that goes.”
Dani Carvajal last turned out for the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners in September, completing 90 minutes in a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.
The club soon revealed that he had been diagnosed with a viral pericardium infection and would miss six weeks of action.
Real Madrid have since gotten their La Liga campaign back on course, winning their last four matches to sit in third spot, five points behind pacesetters Barcelona.
