Manchester United are interested in recalling Belgium-born Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira from Valencia, according to Spanish outlet Plaza Deportiva.
The Red Devils loaned the 21-year-old to the La Liga club in hope that he would be offered first-team football, but the emergence of talented youngsters Goncalo Guedes and Carlos Soler has halted his playing time.
Andreas Pereira has made eight appearances in La Liga this season, with four of them coming from the starting line-up, and scored in Valencia’s 6-3 shootout victory over Real Betis.
Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United would be better off with the Brazilian back in their ranks by January, especially after a busy Christmas schedule and ahead of the addition of FA Cup fixtures.
Manchester United’s playing calendar will likely expand with the addition of the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds, where they are all-but-confirmed to have progressed after four straight wins in the group stage.
Andreas Pereira graduated through Manchester United’s youth academy in 2014, making 13 appearances and scoring one goal.
He is currently in his second season in Spain after a loan spell with Granada last term, where he scored five goals from 35 appearances in La Liga.
